I’m just a gal that loves to paint! When I first started painting for a living, I realized how incredibly fortunate I was to be able to follow my heart and also play with colors all day – how cool is that? All I wanted to do was make people happy with my art. The first time I was picked up by a gallery I couldn’t believe my luck; when all my artwork sold in one month I was shocked. And it has been that way for most of my art career.
It didn’t start out like that. I spent over 20 years in the computer industry and owned a consulting company. I even worked on the Space Shuttle and had a VIP invitation to the first Shuttle launch sitting next to Neal Armstrong! It was a great journey and I learned a lot. But in working hard, we sometimes lose sight of our families and the love surrounding us. In the end, that’s all that really matters. My greatest joy is to have someone let me know that my art is bringing a smile to their face or helping them remember something wonderful.
Being selected as one of America's established contemporary abstract expressionist artists to be represented by a founding member of Sotheby's on line art auctions led to receiving one of the highest honors an artist can achieve - being a Listed Artist. In 2004 I became a Listed Artist in “Mayer’s International Auction Record”, a book from Zurich, Switzerland. This book (sometimes referred to as the "Dead Artist's Book" since Rembrandt, Picasso, etc. are in it) is used by international art collectors and museums.
My artwork is published worldwide, sold in stores such as Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens and Things, Saks Fifth Avenue, Michaels and many more. My martini and wine images have been licensed onto over 20 products such as glass cutting boards, hatboxes, notepads, etc. My art has also been licensed onto products for the “Menopause the Musical” Ovarian Cancer 60 City Tour, and helped raise $600,000 for ovarian cancer research.
And, I have also been featured at eight Disney EPCOT Food & Wine or Flower & Garden Festivals, presenting and selling my artwork in the park, and in 2007 I was the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Poster Artist.
This has been a great journey for me! And now I am venturing out to show people that I believe Everybody Can Paint with Cheri's Art Uncorked, LLC.
Cheri's Art Uncorked taps the inner artist in each of us!
Cheri's Art Uncorked, is the place where people come to paint a piece of artwork in two or three hours, all while having a great time. It's a party, a lesson, a fun place to meet new friends - and you leave with a finished piece of artwork you created. Really!
